Hello ,

We've noticed that after subscribing, folks are not coming back to the site regularly, or participating in chat (we have over 400 subscriber profiles, but around 225 in chat).

It's like people are excited to go to a party but they come in and don't talk to anyone, then leave because nobody talks to them.

We've been busy recruiting volunteers to encourage participation on chat.swlt.ca, and simplified the chat system -- it's now a single signon to access subscriber articles, search through profiles and chat with the women who seem interesting.

We're working on improvements to the visuals and organization of the website and developing how-to pages and video for our process (searching through profiles and using chat).

Inspired by the journaling trend, we've developed some new content to help you make a habit of your SWLT journey to shared housing.

We have a brochure that explains how you can participate fully in finding and getting to know the other women who want to share housing. You can download any of these to print from the new SWLT.ca resources page.

Along with the brochure, we have a few pages of our new journal / with monthly, weekly and daily tasks and habit trackers.

Daily tracker - read and react or reach out to someone in chat

Colour in a leaf, and make a note of usernames that you want to follow up with in chat.

Compatibility checklist

Start making notes about the people whose profile you've read, and your feelings about chat interactions. Set up a video call, invite them to a group meetup, or invite them for a coffee.

You can find these on our Resources page

Please get in touch to let us know if these are the types of resources you'd like to have.

We need your feedback to let us know where to spend our time as volunteers.

You can reply to this email, DM swlt_web on chat.swlt.ca or use the contact form on swlt.ca.

Or join me on Saturday at 11am for an online meetup to go through the SWLT website and resources you can use for finding your future homemates.

Join the online meetup on February 14th

We really hope to see you soon!
