SILVER LININGS NEWSLETTER
DECEMBER 2025

Hi Everyone,

SWLT had a busy year!

In 2025, we welcomed 354 new subscribers on our website. These are the women who decided 2025 was the year they would find homemates to live together.

And we welcomed 92 new subscribers to this newsletter.  Thank you so much for your interest and support.

We applied for some grants and received $10,000 from the Catherine Donnelly Foundation. Contrary to what some people believe, grants for non-profit organizations are not plentiful, so the competition is fierce. Grant application success rates vary but generally fall between 10 and 30%.

Thanks to many of you, we received $2,165 from personal donations in 2025.

Throughout the year, our Board of Directors has faithfully upheld our goals and objectives. I'm convinced that there is not a more hardworking and devoted Board anywhere! We lost 2 Board members in 2025 but gained a new member.

We are currently looking for a Treasurer. Could it be you? If you want a stimulating and rewarding volunteer position, helping us to manage our finances, please send Kathryn an email to learn more about the Treasurer's duties.... boardchair@swlt.ca

And that brings me to shouting out a big Thank You to all of our volunteers.  We could not do it without you!!

If you are reading this and thinking about joining us as a volunteer, please don't hesitate. We will find you the perfect job that works for you.  You can check out some job options here:

Senior Women Living Together wishes all of you a very Happy Holiday season and a happy and healthy New Year!

FOR OUR WEBSITE SUBSCRIBERS

SWLT provides the platform, guidance and support.
                                    YOU do the work!!

To all of our Subscribers:

Make 2026 the year you find your homemates and a home to live in together.  We will help you all the way.

It might help to make a resolution to become more involved in the SWLT community?

If you can consistently login and start conversations with the people in your region or with similar interests, it's more likely that you will actually meet them, leading to finding your homemates.

We've created a series of videos to help you with each technical piece, but let's make an effort to have more online and in-person meetups.

Anyone can post a message in https://chat.swlt.ca:

  • attend an interesting event
  • go for a walk (maybe an Ikea walk during the winter)
  • talk about current events or a good book
  • whatever activities you've wanted to do, but not alone!

As always, you can get in touch using the contact form (https://swlt.ca/contact_swlt), by email (web@swlt.ca) or in the chat (@swltweb)

                     Happy Homemate Hunting!!

Well, that's all for December 2025
